Welcome to the website of Holy Family RC Church, North Shore, Blackpool
Changes in Covid security,
There are many changes in what we may do now that the Covid risk is being reduced. I publish them on the page "Back to the new normal"
Like the Derby this great feast is moved to the weekend. Do remember your own first Communion this Sunday and pray for all those still waiting for their opportunity to receive the Blessed Sacrament. Our Lord makes himself truly present and transforms the substance of bread and wine into His Body Blood Soul and Divinity, whole and entire in either bread or wine (transubstantiation). Today is also a particular day for all extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion.
Sacred Heart Friday is the solemnity of the Sacred Heart. In its present form this devotion flows from the visions of St Margaret Mary Alacoque, but it is much older. the feast encourages sorrow for our own sins and a desire to make reparation for the offences of others.
